143. High-Expectations (And How to Soften Your Grip)
An expectation is simply a mental outlook that something “should” happen in a specific way. But what happens when life doesn't follow our script? The inner critic gets loud, pressure builds, and we lose our peace.
In this episode, we reframe the conversation around high standards.
I've learnt that high expectations aren't inherently good or bad, they just are.
Our true work lies in how we respond when they are met or unmet.
Together, through a guided contemplation, we practice swapping attachment to a rigid result for the spaciousness of heart-centred intention. We don't lower our standards, we simply raise our capacity for peace and life to unfold for us.
Step outside for a walk, or simply pause and take a quiet moment at your desk to ground yourself, and soften the grip on how.
Take a deep breath… and let’s connect within.
